One of the most popular body kits made by Liderkit, which is also quite successful among customers, is the Sandwich model, both 30 mm and 18 mm thick. These bodies will have similar purpose, especially intended to parcel service or even to transportation of perishable goods, as in the case of isothermal or fridge bodies.
But, what’s the difference between them?
- Lightness. The Sandwich 18 mm box is lighter than the Sandwich 30 mm box.
- Combination. The Sandwich 18 mm model is a product designed to be combined with an aluminum rear frame and a polyester roof, which grant a dynamic sense, together with the ultralight subframe.

9 Technical documentation of the 18 mm Sandwich model - Roof. The roof of the Sandwich 18 mm model is made of translucent polyester sheet 1.6 mm thick, reinforced with steel omega profiles 1 mm thick (DX-F5 cold-rolled plate). This piece looks completely finished, sealed and screwed to the profiles from manufacture. The profiles around are aluminum ‘Alloy 6005’. On the other hand, the roof of the Sandwich 30 mm model is made of two polyester sheets 1.6mm thick with a polyurethane core inbetween. Profiles are also aluminum ‘Alloy 6005’. It is fireproof, and external face is white polyester RAL 9016.
- Sandwich PLUS. This is an alternative in the Sandwich 30 mm model, with an external face in polyester 2.5mm thick.

- Side and front walls. In the case of the Sandwich 18 mm model, panels are made of LIDERfoam® 18mm thick, and polyester external faces reinforced with fiberglass, these sheets are approximately 2mm thick with a XPS core in between. It is fireproof with aluminum profiles ‘Alloy 6005’ and external face in RAL 9016. This kit has a system of profiles ‘in 2 pieces’, which avoid rivets and external sealing, giving cleaner appearance and allowing quick and easy assembly.
Although there are no visible rivets or sealing, strength and water tightness are guaranteed. In addition, any kind of reinforcement could be included inside the panels, as well as kick plates and cargo tracks and other additional options like side doors or windows. The Sandwich 30 mm model is the same, but in this case front and side panels are made of LIDERfoam® panels 30 mm thick.
